This letter in regards to my service contract for Dodge Stratus. I have put approximately 36, miles on the vehicle and have done routine oil changes every 3? I have changed the oil myself by draining the oil and replacing the oil filter and new oil. I have no receipts for this and was not aware I was required to keep detailed records of this. Nowhere in my service do I see anything that says to. Mike lewis recommended I have the engine dismantled to further investigate the problem. Upon his investigation he saw metal shavings and?
Chrysler sent a 3rd party investigator to take a look at the problem. It was the inspector? This is absolutely preposterous! I have taken excellent care of my car and was a very happy customer until this incident.
I am requesting in writing an appeal to this decision and demand that the car be repaired as designated in my service contract. I purchased the additional warranty for the comfort of knowing that if something like this were to happen I would certainly be covered.
I contacted your company and was told this is the proper channel to make this request. The person I spoke to said you replace engines everyday and doesn't see why this would be a problem. I need to have this repaired as I cannot possibly afford what it would cost to replace the engine.
I am a good customer and I cannot understand why my service contract is basically useless. These repairs must be covered and there was in no way a lack of maintenance. Please take whatever actions are necessary to resolve this matter in a timely fashion. I refuse to just be swept under the rug. Car stalls, sputters, jumps, kicks and all without warning. Shakes a bit while driving but really acts up when slowing or stopped. Wife pull over, opened the hood, but saw nothing wrong.
Being only a couple miles from home she attempted to restart the car. The car would not start and didn't sound right. She called our mechanic and had the car towed to his business. He told us that after making several attempts to start the car that the engine seized. Both the water and oil were well within the normal operating range.
The car has only 58, miles on it has been well cared far and driven by my overly cautious wife. As I have learned more about this engine I have found plenty of evidence online that the 2. This could have caused very serious problems, and Chrysler should have been forced to recall this. Broke my timing belt. Not the whole kit since I had just done that 60k miles prior. Did not bend any valves, thank goodness. Week later, yet again, my engine stalled while driving.
Added fuel even though the gauge said I had half a tank I'm starting to doubt my fuel pump at this point. I couldn't jump it and it wouldn't start. Had it towed to the shop where it sat for 2 weeks before work could be done on it. I'm looking for any available information that may help me get my car back on the road without leaving me on the side of it. I've taken it to two different shops, the first referred me to the second. Neither will look in depth at my car since the check engine light is not on I'm charged I've also replaced the spark plugs and a balancer belt when I replaced the timing belt.
I'm not so sure I needed the fuel pump replaced in the first place to be honest.
