Many Thanks Tony Top : Bottom. MisterArclite Posts: Joined: 05 January It's a standard circuit. Since you already have an idea of the max load, there is no real specified number. The regs say it can't serve a floor area of greater than 50sqm, but other than that it's a case of how many you need to service the load which you already know. Fused spurs aren't to my mind relevant in a radial circuit, partly because it's a radial so you can't define what constitutes a spur at any point the cable can take the load ; and partly because you'd fuse at 13A anyway, which is the rating normally assumed for a double socket rather than 26A.

I am considering further sockets and to my house as they are currently limited and before I ask an electrician to do the work I want to have a rough idea what I can and can't get away with the least cost. The cooker is on it's own circuit I have two additional radial circuits A and B - A contains 10 socket outlets covering 6 rooms.

A has a breaker at 30 Amps B has a breaker rated at 15 amps I'd preferably like to know if this looks alright and some hints on how to go about calculating how many more sockets I can add to both of these circuits. I'll be brutally honest, I asking these questions so that I don't end up paying for unneccesary upgrades when asking for addtional sockets such as a rewire of the circuits to ring circuits etc.

Any help would be great. Socket Rings: Three separate ring circuits are often used for sockets around the home, one upstairs, one downstairs and one for the kitchen. It is wired using two x 2. Branches know as spurs may be taken off the ring from any socket or by breaking into one of the cables of the ring.
